A notebook for business man should have light weight for portability and long life time battery. Apple launched its Macbook Air and it was rumored that Lenovo would follow up with a 13” ultra-portable laptop. Lenovo did just that in February 2008 when it launched its ThinkPad X300. They both are actually very different in several ways. In this article, I will compare the bad design, performance and price and warranty to help readers make a decision which one is better.
First, when you look at the design of both products, the thinness of Macbook Air is stirring. The uni-body design from a single piece of aluminum makes Macbook Air incredibly durable with just around 1.36 kg. It's a full-size notebook encased in the 0.4-1.94 cm of sleek, sturdy anodized aluminum that is thinner than X300. In contrast, ThinkPad X300 might be thicker than the Air, but the X300 is quite bad for someone. It doesn't look modern like Macbook Air. From my opinion, X300 is stronger and more durable than Macbook Air because the technology of ThinkPad called rollcage makes the body of the laptop stronger.
Second is about the performance of both products. Lenovo makes good use of that extra space, it has a 1.20GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7100 (800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache) processor, Intel X3100 graphics, 2GB of RAM (4GB max supported), 64GB SSD, a DVD burner, a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, gigabit Ethernet and an internal 3G WWAN modem. At the edges are 3 USB ports, a D-SUB monitor port, headphone and microphone sockets while the 13.3-inch WXGA+ 1440 x 900 LED backlit display. Furthermore, both the X300 and Macbook Air have a similar hardware component such as CPU, VGA and memory. Although, Macbook Air doesn’t have optical drive, gigabit Ethernet and D-sub monitor port. If you need to use optical drive, you must pay more for an external optical drive. The resolution of Macbook Air screen is 1280x800 LED backlit display that is less than X300. A function that doesn’t have in X300 is multi-touchpad. It make you easy to control and use your applications.
Moreover, price and warranty are another difference to be considered. ThinkPad X300 is more expensive than Macbook Air around five thousand baht. In addition, X300 warranty is three years on-site service but Macbook Air is one year only. If you need to take a longer warranty, you must buy iCare to add two more years of warranty. From the peoples comments in Thailand, both companies have good customer support and services.
In conclusion, Macbook Air is more beautiful and thinner than X300. It’s got the shiny aluminum shell of the Macbook Pro along with a backlit keyboard the likes of which has never been seen before in a small Apple laptop. If you need to use multi-touch and OSX, Macbook Air can respond to your demands. ThinkPad X300 is better in terms of hardware specification and longer time warranty.

Notebook 's performance
Notebook has became an important thing for university students. Almost every student has a laptop because it is cheaper. The high performance of notebook will make your work faster and can play 3D games in high quality graphics. Notebook performance depends on CPU (Central Processing Unit), memory and VGA (Video Graphics Array). This article contains three main types of notebook in Thailand to advise you to choose a notebook that it optimal with your life style. The three types of notebook are desktop replacement, notebook , and netbook or sub-notebook.
If you like to play games with high quality graphics or have a task that needs a lot of processes or calculating, desktop replacement is optimal for you. It has a lot of features to support rapid process and 3D pictures. First, this type of notebook will contain an extreme CPU in the notebook or CPU that is used in PCs. This type of CPU will have the highest frequency and a huge cache that make the processor works quickly. Cache is the small memory that is included in CPU. It is a temporary storage area where frequently accessed data can be stored for rapid access. The number of core is important. Now desktop replacement use dual core CPU but in the future they have a plan to use quad core. Second is memory, the notebook's companies will have 4 GB of Ram. Third is graphic chip that is used to render 3D picture. It must include dual extremely graphic chip. This technology called SLI (Scalable Link Interface) for GPU (Graphic Processor Unit) from Nvidia and Crossfire from ATI. Desktop replacement notebook must come with a big LCD screen for working and entertainment.
Second is notebook for the medium performance user. This type of laptop has the most market sharing in Thailand because the price is not too high and medium performance that is enough for user. For the notebook, they use normal CPUs that have frequency around 1.8 to 2.2 GHz. The cache size of CPU is smaller or equal with extremely CPU. 1-2 GB is the number of memory that notebook had. The graphic processor unit is not quite good. It uses VGA on board or low VGA chip. VGA on board is the graphic chip that is integrated on motherboard. The quality of VGA on board is low for graphic but it doesn't mean VGA on board can't play games but the quality of graphics when you play games is very low. The size of the screen is around 12.1 inches up to 15.1 inches.
The low performance of notebook called netbook or sub-notebook. It cames with the slowest CPU called Intel Atom. Atom is the Low-End CPU that is used a little energy. It has 512-1024 of Ram. This type of laptop design for working a little bit such as checking e-mail or surfing to internet. The LCD size is around 8 to 10 inches which is portable.
From this article, you can see the different performance between each types of notebook. Each type of notebook is designed for the different demands of users. It depends on you to choose the best thing that is optimal for you. The desktop replacement is for the user who need extreme performance for work or entertainment. The notebook for people who don't need more performance. Last, the sub-notebook or netbook for the user who need to take notebook everywhere because it's easy to move. It depends on your life style, your needs and your money.

Sony Ericsson's Product
Sony Ericsson is a joint venture established on October 3,2001 by the Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson to making the mobile phones(From Wikipedia). The stated reason for this venture is to combine Sony's consumer communications sector. The Sony Ericsson's product has many series to respond to the demand of the users. In this article, it contains three series of product. The K series for camera phone, W series for walkman phone and J series for low-end phone.
The K series, The word K comes from Kamera (Swedish for "camera"). This series focused on the quality of camera that is greater than another. Sony included cyber-shot technology into K series phone. The K750i is a famous example of K series. It come with 2 Mega pixels with auto-focus and flash. From my experience, K750i has a great camera to take a photo but in terms of VDO recording, it's poor. The function is quite good at taking photo and listening to music but the sound quality from the speaker is not well. The K series included the cover to protect the lens of the camera. The design of K series phone is deluxe phone. The color that Sony Ericsson uses for K series is black, it makes the phone look modern and deluxe.
The walkman phone or W series from Sony Ericsson, is the phone that can take your music everywhere. You can see the walkman logo on the phone. Walkman phone included a camera without auto-focus and good speaker. It doesn't have lens cover like K series. The W series have black and orange or white and orange color. I have a w850 black color, slide phone. The speaker used in w850 is quite good; bass treble and vocal are good quality more than others. The menu interface in walkman series is greater than K series. The music player has more functions to shuffle, repeat and configure visualizations. The one function that is in W series only is flight mode. It is a mode in which mobile phone can be left on while inside a flying aircraft. User can play a phone normally but a phone doesn't receive phone signal
Finally, Sony Ericsson's product is J series. J series has strong body and the stamina battery powering of J-series phones, offers longer talk time of up to 8 hours and can provide up to 300 hours of stand-by time. Sony Ericsson cut sone functions to make it cheaper such as 2 mega pixels to VGA camera or 262k screen to 65k screen. The Sony Ericsson J220i is a very small, light&compact mobile phone which is very user friendly. The phone comes in a color of smooth black or sky blue. It comes with standard functions with VGA camera.
In conclusion, Sony Ericsson needs to have many series of product to respond to customers' demands. From the article, you can see the point of each series focused on; K series for shooting picture, W for music people and J series for cheaper. That depends on customers' life style, what series is best for them

Database
Nowadays, I think everyone has ever heard of the name of database but just has a few people know what database is. A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed, and updated. Database can be classified according to types of content: full-text, numeric, and images. Database tools and applications are designed to help you store and manage data in a controlled and structured manner. This article will contain about the benefits of database development, applications of database and the types of database.
For most businesses or organizations, the more knowledge about customers, suppliers and competitors, the better. Therefore the gathering, storing and analyzing of information in the form of databases can provide you with an advantage. Many businesses do not have the time, resources or skill available to gather and process large quantities of information. Therefore they may lack information about their business. However, as it's not always obvious what information is potentially valuable, you should try to gather as much data as possible. Having all this information can help you deal and decide with specific problems. In this term, it may use a technique called data mining to analyze data to find the answer that help us make decision.
Databases are used in many applications such as website or application that contains a lot of data. Databases are the preferred method of storage for large multi-user applications, where coordination between many users is needed. An individual user finds them convenient, and many electronic mail programs and personal profiles are based on standard database technology. Software database drivers are available for most database platforms so that application software can use a common Application Programming Interface (API) to retrieve the information stored in a database. Two commonly used database APIs are JDBC and ODBC. For example supplier’s database contains the data relating to suppliers such as (base on my project: Data warehouse for entertainment);

Databases generally have one of two basic forms. The single-file database or the multi-file relational database. Single-file databases are often called "flat file" systems and relational databases are frequently known as "structured" databases. The type of database system or tool that you require depends on the system such as the quantity of data to be stored and processed or the complexity of the data involved, e.g. plain text, images, sound files. If a requirement is simple, such as monitoring the names and addresses of around 100 customers, you might find that standard office tools such as a Excel might be enough. Some don’t know excel can be a database. Database Modeling Excel is a database modeling software and provides a convenient or maybe the easiest way to model your database. However, if your needs become more complicated, you will need to look at more sophisticate and capable packages such as Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, Oracle, Sybase or Informix or DB2 Data warehouse. These are specifically designed to sort and search large amounts of data of a variety of types, for instance, allowing you to manage customer names, goods orders and payment histories.
I think when you read this article, you will have more knowledge about database. You can see the importance of database, it can help companies to manage or organize their data. Similarly, many business types such as manufacturing, publishing, insurance and etc will have database solutions specifically targeted at their precise needs and requirements. It is worth seeking out any products which address the particular needs of your business sector. You might find them by asking your industry. You can use the Internet to research popular database products.

Three latest Intel's CPU generation
Intel Corporation is the world's largest semiconductor company and the inventor of the x86 microprocessors, the processor most found in PC. The company has established on July 18, 1968 as Integrated Electronics Corporation. Since 1968, Intel manufacture many generations of CPU to PC’s user. I would talk about three latest generations. First, the Pentium 4 brand refers to Intel's line of single-core mainstream desktop and laptop CPU introduced on November 20, 2000. Second, the Pentium D brand refers to two series of dual-core 64-bit x86 processors with the NetBurst micro architecture like Pentium 4. Intel released Pentium D on May 25, 2005. Finally, the Core 2 brand was introduced on July 27, 2006 comprising the Solo (single-core), Duo (dual-core), Quad (quad-core), and Extreme (dual- or quad-core CPUs for enthusiasts or gamers) branches. Intel uses the Intel micro architecture for Core2 to increase speed and decrease power consumption.
Although Pentium 4 gets out of this CPU generation but Pentium 4 is the most popular Intel’s CPU. The first Pentium 4 CPU introduced on November 20, 2000 and the last August 8, 2008. It’s around eight years for Pentium 4 in the CPU market. Eight years for the CPU generation is a very long time to compete with other company. Pentium 4 CPUs introduced the SSE2 and SSE3 instruction sets to accelerate calculations, transactions, media processing, 3D graphics, and games. They also integrated Hyper-threading (HT), a feature to make one physical CPU work as two logical and virtual CPUs. The general PC user may know a code named Pentium 4 only but inside the core of CPU, it had the name too. The Willamette is the first generation of Pentium 4 that has 180nm core size. Second is Northwood that has 90 nm core size. The last for Pentium 4 is Prescott that has 65 nm.If the core of CPU is small, the frequency or clock speed will increase and decrease power consumption too. The IBM computers in SIT use Pentium4 3.0 GHz codename Prescott. The last Pentium4 had 3.8 GHz speed. The problems of Pentium4 are power consumption and it has single core.
Pentium D is the first generation of dual-core CPU but it still uses Netburst architecture that used a lot of power consumption. The brand's first processor codenamed Smithfield, was released on May 25, 2005. Around a year later, Intel introduced its successor, codenamed Presler, but without offering significant upgrades in design, still resulting in a relatively high power consumption. The high power consumption is Pentium D abort in the CPU Market. The last generation of Pentium D branded processors was the Presle , and made of two 65 nm-process cores found also in Pentium 4. The Presler single package also comprised two single-core dies next to each other increasing its processing capability over single-core CPUs branded Pentium 4. The Presler was supported by the same chipsets as the Smithfield. It was produced using 65 nm technology.
From the lack of success of Pentium D, Intel has developd the new architecture to replace NetBurst. It’s called Intel Core microarchitecture. The Core 2 brand refers to a range of Intel's consumer 64-bit dual-core and 2x2 MCM (Multi-Chip Module) quad-core CPUs with the x86-64 instruction set. (Tips: x86 is 32 bit and x86-64 is 64 bit) The Core microarchitecture returned to lower clock rate and improved processors' usage of both available clock cycles and power compared with preceding NetBurst of the Pentium 4 and D. Core microarchitecture provides more efficient decoding stages, execution units, caches, and buses, reducing the power consumption of Core 2, while increasing their processing capacity. The Core 2 brand was introduced on July 27, 2006 comprising the Solo (single-core), Duo (dual-core), Quad (quad-core), and Extreme (dual-core, quad-core for hi-end user).
From the latest three generation of Intel CPU, you can see the evolution of CPU. Intel needs to increase the speed of CPU by increasing clock speed, changing core architecture and adding more cores for CPU. The power consumption is a one thing that Intel needs to decrease because the power consumption will make the CPU heated. That means in the future, the CPU will have more speed and use less power consumption
